What is mary beth tinning?

Mary Beth Tinning is an American woman who gained notoriety for being convicted of murdering four of her own children between 1972 and 1985. She was born on September 11, 1942, in Duanesburg, New York.

Tinning's first child died of unknown causes in 1972, and her second child died in 1975 from acute encephalitis. After that, Tinning's remaining children started experiencing similar mysterious illnesses and deaths. In total, she lost nine of her biological and adopted children, with the last four deaths being ruled as homicides.

Tinning was arrested in 1987 and convicted of second-degree murder in the deaths of three of her children. She was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. Tinning has denied any involvement in her children's deaths and claims they all died of natural causes.

Tinning's case has been the subject of much controversy and speculation, with some experts suggesting that she may suffer from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a psychological disorder in which a caregiver fabricates or induces illness in someone under their care to gain attention or sympathy.
